✹ How voting works

Every submission earns votes based on its type:
• Ten-Minute Play, Music, Monologue – 1 vote
• One Act Play, Dance – 2 votes
• Full Length Play – 3 votes

Fee: $25 per vote. For example, a Full Length Play (3 votes) costs $75. Your payment confirms your submission and gives you a voice in the trust.

Active votes: You may hold up to 12 active votes at any time. If you earn more than 12, the excess votes are banked and held until some existing votes expire.

Expiration: Any votes that activate are good for one FULL CALENDAR year from that activation date.
After that year, the vote expires and is removed from your balance.
Once a banked vote becomes active, it lasts for one FULL CALENDAR year from that activation date.

Votes are tallied by email address.
There may be only one email valid for any one person.
Use of more han one email for a person is subject to cancellaion of all votes, at our discretion.
You’ll be able to check your balance and expiration dates on your vote dashboard.

Read Voting Terms
  • Votes expire one year after activation.
  • Banked votes are held until space opens in your 12‑vote cap.
  • Voting will occur 3 or more times a year.

  • Fees are non‑refundable.
  • Payment is processed securely by Stripe.
  • Payment is to "Swaslu", the espresso arm of the former theater, the Brooklyn Lyceum.
  • The fee is $25 per vote, calculated based on the type of work selected.
  • You will be charged the amount shown on submission.
Read Legal Victory Terms
  • Legal victory is defined as a final, non‑appealable judgment or settlement that results in the return of the theater or the award of damages.
  • A portion of any proceeds from a legal victory will be used to fund the arts trust and further the mission of SubJudice.art.
  • Submitters do not receive direct financial compensation from legal proceeds.
  • Votes earned through submissions are non‑transferable and have no cash value.
    • Legal issues include, but are not limited to:
    • Failure to serve motion papers on opposing counsel, our attorney.
    • Unserved motion seeking Judgment of foreclosure without required citation of the law authorizing judgment of foreclosure.
    • Unserved motion, dated October 13, 2009, citing an attached affirmation dated 13 days in the future, October 26, 2009, an impossibility, and also not actually attached, and not existing anywhere.
    • Unserved motion not adequately providing proof of service of summons and complaint on Borrower, the Brooklyn Lyceum.
    • Order resulting from unserved motion in name of a substituted plaintiff
      before notice of substituted plaintiff served on anyone.
    • Order resulting from unserved motion granting something not requested in motion,
      an interim Default Judgment, instead of what was requested, a final Judgment of Foreclosure.
    • Order resulting from unserved motion citing two non‑existent affirmations.
    • A subsequent order containing a record error finding tat cies no facts, cites no record evidence, impossible from what was before the court, and incorrect.
